Ukraine in Hetalia tends to be overlooked because she, to be cruelly honest, looks plain owing to the way she dresses, and also her national 'fertility' makes more than a few fans roll their eyes. But she's had far from a cushy lifestyle. Money issues, Holodomor, and then the world's worst nuclear disaster to date, even worse than Japan's tragic accidents in 2011. It seems Russia CAN be caring, despite many of us seeing him as being a few screws loose

i agree,i learned about Chernobyl before i knew hetalia,when i saw Ukraine,she is suddenly my favorite because of this,i also loved the country before the character,because i know how the people feelsย
