Description Went for an almost flat design this time to experiment with large area shading.

For you techie people:

The Shrike Interceptor is built around two oversized engines which gulp down fuel but create extreme thrust and maneuverability. Designed to operate as defense for a battlegroup or planetary system, this fighter may also be used in standard Combat Aerospace Patrol missions, provided it has external fuel pods instead of missiles. The fighter craft comes standard with 4 mass driver cannons and two warhead launchers (6 ammo) as well as 3 external hardpoints for heavy 'Swarmer' cluster missiles or fuel pods.

This is by far my favorite of your fighters. May not be technically the most powerful, but asthetically it damn near takes my breath away. The detail that was put into it and the shape, the cockpit... aurgh. It rocks.

sweeeet. You've got a lot of these in your head, don't you?

As for shading, what I've found works by FAR the best is this: go buy a decently soft pencil (4B is probably best for how dark you're making them) and a blending stump. It's unbelievable how smoothly you can shade. Or, a chamois works better, but costs more, and isn't easy to do fine details.

If you need help with the 3D perspectives, first draw an X-Y axis on the paper to show the flat plane on which the drawing will be based. I've found that this helps a LOT in situations where you have symmetric details on both sides. Other than that, just try try try till you get a breakthru.

Once again, an awesome job on these John. I'm truly impressed. I tried my hand at this the other day and the paper is now scattered ash in the wind. It was a disaster, lol. I'll stick with what I know I can do.
