Oh dear god.

That is.... BEYOND amazing.
How long have you been into photography for?

Boulder...that sounds familiar... I feel like I've read that location from a book once XD

This shot is incredibly amazing though, beyond what words can truly describe really. I mean, I thought the thumb was one thing, but this, itself? Mind blowing. The amount of lighting here is really what makes this shot. You've got the way it's hitting the tree on the left, to the way it hits all the others on the right, the way it makes the leaves and all their colors glow, the way it shines down on the stream, as if everything were on some glittery path of fire that everything had to be seen and be seen then and now.

The way some of the trees lack some of their leaves, from the left to the bottom right, is fantastic. I think it's even better with that detail than if it had had all of them. It sort of makes for an interesting way to see beyond their branches, to sort of become visible within the invisible. I feel especially from that left tree, that it reminds me of alveoli Which is pretty awesome XD

I think that one dead tree that forces itself into the pack, that almost launches up from the ground, is a really perfect thing in this photo too, I mean, you've got so much wonderful dead life going on, that that true piece of dead makes it....almost more real. It's not like a fabricated moment, it's real and in being real it has its flaws and its mishaps -- plus the shadows on it are fantastic.

I also really love the mountain range in the background, it's the perfect dark scene for this, the only other thing I could imagine instead would be something looking down [like if this were on the side of a mountain] into a lake or something...now that would be insane as well.

But really, this is a fantastic shot. Your signature is hidden enough too, at first I noticed it a lot but then it nearly disappeared from my eyes....
Do you remember what the weather was like in shooting this? Like was it hot or cool or...? I think the next best thing of seeing this would have been to actually be there, and, maybe if inaccurately, it does bring some ideas to my mind and makes me feel as if I could understand what was happening, what it was like.... Which is definitely a sign of a photograph done well.

Thanks so much for the amazing comment! In all my years on deviant art I haven't had such a thoughtful and detailed comment like yours.

Boulder can be a neat town but some of the people are quite odd. Everyone says it's a one of a kind town in Colorado surrounded by reality.

I was driving back towards my house from photographing up in the mountains when I saw this view and I just had to stop.

That morning was sort of warm but very windy and the wind itself was very cold. By the time this photo was taken I was able to take off my jacket because the sun had hit a high enough point in the sky and the wind wasn't blowing any more.
