Description It's said Winter is the season of the dead
With the trees all bare and the land frozen
And that Spring is the season of rebirth
With awakening warmth sprouting flowers from the earth
Then Autumn, what does that make you?
The steadily dying but the graceful, too
What beauty in your goldening leaves
That brings such a joy for me to see
Acceptance of the coming end
And gratefulness for the time you've spent
No bargaining or crying out
Or messy tears dribbled about
All the things that might have but will not be
You recline your head contentedly
Oh Fall, with what grace you walk the plank!
Nodding at every soul you thank
And though the Winter looms so near
For right now you are still here
And in right now your colors shine
The reds and browns and oranges devine
Though Thanatos eyes his hourglass
You cherish each second as they pass
And each second I shall cherish too
In the time I get to spend with you
