Description Tears flowing, your smile fades away,
How can this emptiness last another day?
I watch you suffer; my heart starts to break,
Please stop giving in; it's more than I can take.

You're dragging me down, but I don't want to leave,
So trust in me, don't give up, what would it achieve?
The crying always starts when I'm never there,
You're starting to rely on me, but why should I care?

I have problems too, and the burdens hit me hard,
But I focus on my friends, and don't let down my guard.
I need a distraction, and my distraction is your pain,
So I listen at night, never sleep, and for you I take the blame.

Promising I will be there, the guilt builds up inside,
As I feel like I'm lying, every time I hide.
Every day I'm there to talk, even if it stings,
One day when I disappear, alarm bells will ring.

You'll be lost and hurting inside, begging for me to call,
Unaware and confused while I then decide to fall.
When you get worried, you'll come knocking on my door,
You'll be answered by my parents, and I'll be here no more.

Angry and defeated, you'll start to wonder how it's true,
Being so weak and I was strong, why can't it be you?
You'll see how I could hide, and then you'll start to grieve,
But you'll carry on and show some strength, and try to believe.

For me you'll be someone, and be proud of who you are,
Because I left a note in your room, to say I'm your shining star,
That I will always be there, and my words are always true,
I'll always look down, and watch over you.
