reminds me of what a few of my friends went through one time. they were out on a multi-day hike and in the middle of the night a couple military jets flew right over their camp site just a few feet above the ground.

About this time of year back in 1997, I was driving on the main highway from Mojave, CA towards Boron and Barstow - heading east and had a B-2 whiz right over the road ahead of me, just like in your painting, with two chase F-15's. Am amazed I didn't drift out of the lane or lock the brakes.
Sometimes, pilots see bystanders and cannot resist being the show.
Like the tomcat, but the background is fine too, especially that small ripple surf.
