Description Fractal thin 589

Sapphires are great minerals. They are part of the mineral corundum. It's simple aluminum oxide and one of the hardest minerals in the world. It includes rubies who get their red colour from different impurities than sapphire. In their raw state they grow in hexagonal shapes (like in the fractal). These are a bit too cyan-aqua coloured for sapphire though...

I got to have some fun again learning I learned that if you combine ngon and bubble you get a rounded shape with a polygon center. Then learned to make flower shapes out of Julian/Julianscopes (I was trying to make snowflakes, but of well )

So funny. I used this as my desktop wallpaper. I did a random search on bing for colorful backgrounds and found this.
Never thought I'd find the Artist here lol.
Well done!

It's funny how the internet works And you are a Trini too (like me)! I have only ever run into a very small handful here.

Either way, I'm glad you liked my fractal, and thanks for the favs

YOU'RE A TRINI!!!! (OMG 0.0) You'd be the what...5th guy I met here from my country lol!

I always thought a... this isn't racial, but I always thought a white guy did this...
Wait...you aint the art guy who likes to draw fractal lines right?? 0.-

Of Course! I really lie your work. What do you use to make them?
Photoshop? Illustrator? Open Canvas??

I suppose I would agree with the stereotype a bit. On the other side, I normally think of it as a male dominated art form, but I meet some women doing it too But I'm half white.... So I guess that makes you half right on me, lol.

This is a program called Apophysis. It's a fractal generating software, available for free on their website. There are several tutorials on DA and other sites on how to use it, so it's not too hard to learn. It can get a little mathematical at times, but I like it. If the result is not too great I would put I through Photoshop to touch it up a little.

Art guy who likes to draw fractal lines???

Oh o.o...

Ohhhh... Ok... When I have time I'll download that program and try my hand at this art, when I have time XD

Oh it's an artist I met who does this same kind of thing, but he likes to draw lines that appear like spikes or leaves...
I thought you were him XD

HOWDOYOU
IDON'TEVEN
IGIVEUP

How you are able to make so many quality fractals so quickly is beyond me. Still.

Hmmm, how?

Not sure.... Something with the whole lack of employment or school helps But I don't know, I just sit down at my computer and a few hours later I have a few new ones to upload, lol.... Surprises me too

I don't yet have a full understanding of Apo. All I know is:

1.) Here's a blank flame
2.) Here's some plugins
3.) Make somethin' outta that.

Which is how a majority of my fractals are made. I know nothing of Xaos, Scripts, not much about post-transforms, and I don't really know how to move the transforms around correctly.

I don't understand what the majority of the plugins do either, I just stick to the handful at I do and occasionally experiment with some others. Xaos is odd, but I somehow figured it out through painful trial and error...Never use scripts..... Never used post-transforms (or really know what they do)

Other than the odd shapes (which are combinations of Julian, bubble, ngon and preblur) it's just a spiral made from linear.

Really? I've always avoided Linear because it messes with other plugins when on the same transform.

Linear never really works well in the same transform, but I love using it to make spirals like this one
