Since the end of 2022, I've been writing my own light novel. It was initially a comic project with a friend, or an underclassman to be exact, from 2017. I started with some random illustrations of the characters back then before getting into the main story.

We didn't really decide on a fixed title so I deliberately picked a word based on the story, core, and thus the title becomes "Carina". Totally random, I know, but I think it's a perfect fit as the genre of the comic itself is mystery and thriller.

However, things didn't go as we want them to be. The platform we planned to upload the comic into closed down about a year later due to lack of interest (and funding, probably) and thus I kinda put this comic on hold indefinitely. Fast forward to July 2022,I participated in a small webinar and got encouraged to start my own content. As I'm not into making videos for youtube or tiktok, I decided to look into my archive for ideas and I finally remembered about this comic project. Although it's a bit different this time as I make it into a light novel so I can work on it by myself.

Yeah, based on my experience, drawing a comic on my own is rather exhausting and I can't possibly keep up with finishing a 10 page chapter every week. This light novel, on the other hand, is planned to have only 3 illustrations per chapter while the rest of the chapter is plain text, which I think is more managable.

This artwork itself is a cover art for the light novel. The girl with short hair is called Rachel who is rather an energetic and agile tomboy while the bespectacled, long haired one is called Angel who is all analytic and logical. They are childhood friends and their friendship is about to be tested through various adventures, cases and also mishaps.

They are 16 in the beginning of the story and would gradually grow up as the story progresses. Later in the story, Rachel would acquire driving skill as well as a hand-me-down car from her father.
