I am always bummed out when I draw a cute sketch, and know my coloring/shading will never do it any justice. Fff I have no idea what to do with backgrounds either, but oh well. :<I'm still happy with it though, I worked on it over the course of a few days... <3

I think if you used a warmer complimentary colour for the background (like orange or tan) it would look better and less 'out of a highschool yearbook', and it would also add to the mood of the image. <3 That aside, I really think this is adorable~

I tried that, hm... the blues were meant to contrast more with the warm colors in the image, but that's not working so well I think XD I wish I could add a texture or pattern to the background somehow, but I... dunno how. /fail
