It's official.

I love this new painting style.

I was doodling in school earlier today a drawing like this, but of Blaze. I got annoyed, and threw it at ~Aliceloveszombies ' friend. Then I got home and tried again. I really don't know how she transformed from Blaze to Marine, but whatever.

It's undefined what abilities Marine possesses, as shown at the end of Sonic Rush Adventure. (final boss fight) She fires off a blueish orb, but never says what it is. Some think it's telekinesis, like Silver. Others, hydrokinesis. Will we ever know?

SEGA needs to come out with a Sonic Rush Adventure 2 or something.

I think that the most enchanting thing about this is just how calm Marine looks; she seems more mature and elegant. The title is very fitting as well, as this power is a "secret".

Setting this at night or early morning makes Marine's bright colours stand out. The shading is very smooth and you used a good technique.

Marine's hands are almost perfect, it's just the pinkie finger on her left hand looks a little long, but other than that, they look great.

I would have to criticize her head though, it would probably look better if it was more circular.


Your art has improved a lot since I last looked at your gallery.
I can say that using Marine for this was a good choice, but if you were considering doing it again as Blaze, I would definitely say to give Blaze a crafty look, as if to "mirror" Marine.

I can admit that Marine's head and fingers don't look too proportionally correct. I think it's because I was using Manga Studio. I haven't tried using a circle for a "base", and normally, I start with circles. (well, for traditional drawings, anyway...)

A mirrored picture? hmm that sounds interesting. I haven't drawn Blaze in awhile, so I might give it a go. Blaze looking all beast with her awesome fire powers... dangit, I have inspiration.

I hate when they introduce new characters and then just die / vanish / are forgotten.
Kind of like with Vanilla, Rouge, Wave, and Shade.

Or they make a new character that doesn't follow in line with canon of the games.
Like Quake Woman, Sally Acorn and Cosmo the Seedrian.

wait, all of those listed are strong independent women.....

I was noticing that. And it's strange how it seems to only be the women who go missing. Aren't we all equal?! *is shot*

SEGA seems to make a lot of characters that appear once or twice, and then are never heard from again. I'd really like to see Marine in another video game, and hopefully, with a voice actor. XD

There are so many things Marine could do with water...
Put out fires.
water plants to make em grow
use water to cool of her mates in the desert
thaw ice
make ice by throwing it onto something really cold.
(Sonic and tails make whirlwind in a cold place, Marine adds water turns into ice and then Knuckles punches it and they ride it!)

If there is ever another game with her in it, they need to seriously clear that up. Make it into another lesson of the power of trust. (I'm thinking "Sonic and Tails trying to weedle out a confession with some platitudes on the power of trust. And maybe a kiss or two on Tails' part. ")

That would really be helpful. I've absolutely loved Sonic Rush and Adventure, (whenever ~SuperRelic lets me play it) and the whole idea of trust is a great gaming concept, seeing how hostility seems to be common nowadays. I'm not sure if SEGA would include a kiss on any part, seeing that the one kiss in '06 seemed to ruin the entire game for everyone. Plus, the fandom would go nuts. But yes, that would be interesting.

Oh gosh I sounded all fancy... sorry, my English teacher is getting to me.

Honestly, I make a base/flat color layer, make a new layer, select the area I want in the lines layer, and just go airbrush crazy. The blur tool is truly amazing. And Photoshop Elements is to blame for the blue lighting in the shading. I really don't know how to say anything else.
