Oh this is so adorable! Where do I even begin?! I guess I will start with Clara!Β
First of all, how did you come up with such a good design?! I've been trying to give her a good look for like half a year and I win a prize and you come up with a beautiful design in two days?! That is incredible! I am inspired to work with this design and make it fit my story a bit more.
Now, I am loving the creative liberties you took with my characters. Clara aside, I am loving the little pigtails that Alyona is wearing. I don't normally like pigtails, but you made Aly pull it off so well I am dying from the cuteness! Her hair is so beautifully done, I am still wondering how in the world you get the coloring done so quickly? XD I still can't figure out how to color in Manga Studio.Β
And I am loving the hair you gave Peter here! It's like his mom is frantically trying to keep it under control before she decides to just give it up as a lost cause. XD It made me think that maybe Peter's hair is more reddish brown compared to Alyona's. I also love his expression. He could be saying anything, but I think of it like this.Β
Peter: "You call it shokolad in Russian? That's actually not far off from what we call it. Here, we call it chocolate. Would you like some?"Β
Alyona: "... Yes? I... would like that very much..."Β

I'm so glad that you love it so much!! It took me a while to figure out Clara. In the end, it wasn't too complicated. xD
Out of all the things I've worked on in drawing, I think hair is one I've worked on the most. xD I use the fill tool then I use the pen tool to get all the little white bits. I make a new layer and set it to the lower layer and set the layer to "multiply". Then I use the soft brush tool and brush lots of lines to make the hair look soft.
