Description yep, thats right
prom was last weekend
and i had my duct tape stuff ready to go
bowling themed of course!!
for me: dress, shoes, choker, crosage, shawl, purse
for travis: pants, jacket, tie, belt, hat, pimp cane, scarf thing, a pair of lapel roses
dress too one week
suit two days

14rolls total: 10 red, 2 black, 2 white

lovely dress there...could I ask you for some advice? since I also want to do a duct tape dress for my prom
what were the difficulties you experienced on the making and the using of your dress (as heat or wrinkling) and could you overcome them?
how much time did it take?
how much fun did you have?

yay! advice! i love helping! (and when you are done i must see a pic!!!)
the biggest difficulty was the sewing machine needle... it kept getting sticky and stuck in the tape on muslin backing....simple solution, have multiple needles, when one got sticky i moved it to a cup filled with goo gone... or oilive oil, just something to desticky it... in the end, half the seems were taped together, half of them sewn...
heat BAD... and you wouldnt want to hang it either... i had mine laying flat... cool thing to do, the pins on my dress, i made them seperatly on wax paper... like big stickers almost, trick there is to peel them off of the wax paper before they set
my dress took about a week working after school, his suit and most of the assessories were thrown together in a few days...
when you put it on, it may be a little tight, it loosens a little bit as you wear it more... i would make it a half size or full size too big though since the fabric youre working with is stiff to say the least....
fun? it was freakin amazing.... it was raining when we got there but it didnt matter, we were waterproof XD.... the band gave us a shout out, thought we were wearing red leather.... i actually one one of the minor prizes from the duct tape prom people (are you competing with them or no?)
i would do it all again in a heartbeat.....
do you have any ideas yet or no?
i really would like to see what you come up with

fuck yes i did... it was my plan... i actually one one of the smaller prizes for it... not the full but i didnt complain
if i could go back to last year, to high school and all that jazz, i would make a few changes to the design... but hey, what's done is done

Oh my gosh, thats awesome. I love it. You put such detail into the design. I can never get my duct tape to work like that.
What brand did you mainly use. I've found some brands to be better than others.

jaja, some brands are better than others... from looking at your stuff, you seem to have figured out the 'tape on tape' fabric making trick... between that and just coating fabric with it, you can usually make it flow... the biggest issue i had with it was the machine needle getting stuck in the tape... broke quite a few but it came out a winner ^^

OH! That makes a lot more sense. Using a sewing machine must help a lot when making clothing. It never even crossed my mind. Good idea.

thanks yo, i'm submitting it soon as voting is in a week or two
it wasnt too hard to make, as for the how--- the dress took about a week--- cut a pattren out of cheap fabric,coated it and sewed/taped it all up--- the jacket and pants had to be made much quicker (as i got a date late) and took 2 days--- they were just covered from the thrift store
as forsomefort--- it was a bit stiff and itchy for the first few min i had iton, but it starts to flex some after awhile

easy, cut out a pattren, covered it, trimmed the excess, sewed/tapedit all together
