"I'm sure you're both.. Zangetsu."A lot of inspiration from the latest chapter to do this. The chapter was pretty mind blowing. Even though I'm not too fond to the whole idea of Ichigo having two zanpakutos, but in a way it makes sense. Finally both have their own wield sword forms. Now they can stop fighting over who gets to be Ichigo's main power source *lol~*. Also what made me so happy is that finally Ichigo accepts them both. ^^ & a certain hollow finally having some "screen time", instead of flashback panels.. Yay~! I'm still calling zangetsu "zangetsu" too.. (& I think this may be the first time I ever drew him xD)

It would make sense for them both to be Zangetsu. After all, the other two twin blade Zanpakuto have two spirits to represent both of the blades (i.e Katen Kiyoukotsu and Sogyo No Kotowari). We know this from the Zanpakuto Rebellion Arc. It's already been confirmed that Zangetsu fused with Ichigo's inner hollow so that they became one in the same being. Could it be that the inner Juha Bach (the Quincy power manifestation) fused with the other Zangetsu spirit? Of course, the inner Bach denied being Zangetsu. He said that he deceived Ichigo by telling him that Zangetsu was his name. But maybe he just didn't know that he fused with the other Zangetsu spirit.
Anyway, that's my fan theory.

You know, their blade forms actually fit their characters.
The larger one is made to attack opponents, which fits Shiro's battle style and his hollow nature.
The smaller one is more blunt and short, most likely used for defense rather than attack. This fits Zangetsu's/Tensa's nature in wanting to protect Ichigo at all costs.
Geez, I cannot wait for bankai. I have to wonder if their bankai form would be similar to their fusion form or if that's just a final form and their bankai spirits will be sort of different.
