Description FINALLY finished this old piece of Shimmer Star, Glitter's younger sister
I actually had planned the bangs to be chunked colors like the tail but when I got commissions done, I liked the stripes instead.
God I've missed coloring. On vectors I really can't shade or paint...it was a nice break.

Her backstory:
Shimmer Star is Glitter's younger sister, around the same age of the main ponies on the show.
She is a singer and thus her cutie mark is a deep purple microphone with a cord that turns into a treble clef. Her fur is a light pink, not bright like Pinkie Pie's She has brightly colored hair like her sister, but without the black. And she's not quite old enough to get the 'coming-of-age' black mane and tail. So that is why she has no black on her body. Her eyes are a bright purplish-blue. She also shares the same heart marking as Glitter under her left eye, except it's red so it stands out more. She wears a bow at the beginning of her tail and on one lower side of her mane. The bows have no certain color and change on occasion.
She stays far far away the coal mines to protect her voice and leaves Raven-Trot at a young age before getting any black features.

Her best friends in Ponyville are Vinyl Scratch and Pipsqueak.

If you're wondering how she sounds when she sings, she sounds very much like the Vocaloid Gumi , except in English of course!

Thanks. The lines are super shaky because I hadn't drawn or inked in a year and I was so nervous.

Awww, I'm the same way with shaky lines. Why so nervous though?

I didn't want to screw up the ink lines. I know I can fix it to a degree in Photoshop, but when I draw and ink by hand, I want it to be smooth. Usually I go and bold the outline to make it look smoother. I think I was just in a hurry to get this one up and I forgot to do it. I could just go over my lines like a base and color it that way now that I think of it. Would take longer, but would look a lot better.

Ok, I know where you're coming from. We just need to keep practicing techniques to get better at smooth lines Like, draw basic shapes and just ink the lines. You're probably like me where I'll start to draw something, then want to make it absolutely the best ever so that I can post it as a finished work. Then I become discouraged that the piece doesn't come out like I had imagined. So far I have found that a relaxed hand and increased arm motion makes for a smoother line. I have a tendency to hold the ink pen tightly and use the wrist a lot, in an effort to have more control, but then my hand starts to shake.

Just keep practicing and drawing, you'll get better. But this piece is already very good as it stands

That's some good advice I'm going to have to try out.
