description: a mammilian style of night fury, found in the farest reigons of the swan nebula,
the planet fura inhabited over 50 species of furan, but 20 remain after the armargan war, each subspecies is specially
adapted for its living area/choice of food/predatory chain.

skin and scales: a furans scales are small in particular, they do not portrude from the dragons body itself,
but behave in a feather like way, overlapping each other to allow wind and water to slide off.
a furan sheds its scales during wintering season and scales that replace them are more heat locking and feather like.

coloration and patterning: due to their environment, furans adapt two different pelts, a strong snow white pelt or,
or a brash deep charcoal, in some sub-species, skin and pelt are seen as jet black, or can even appear midnight blue.
patterns can range from spots and stripes, to cursed writings and tattoo like singular form markings half way down a section of the body
(e.g spectrumised notes on the flank,) these patterns allow furans to tell each other appart.

manes and tail tufts: the most indentifying feature of a furan is its mane, it can vary between a large, flowing member of hair
from the forelock down to the whithers, or can be short and docked, scruffy from time to time.
these "mohawks" are a part of their winter protection, their climit is 300 below freezing in winter, so the furans grow out
their manes and tufts to stay warm, also, other sub-species manes vary in style, shape, and even patterning.
the tail tuft is to protect the furans back from sheer cold, the tuft is usually the same color if not similar to the mane.

wings: furans are distinctive with their wings, a furans winges are heavily feathered, 2 large layers of feather cover the bones
that make up their structure. subspecies wings vary in size, and number.
furans and their subspecies have a large wing-to-body mass, allowing them to glide on their wings for long periods (usually 12 hours, but studies prove
some migrating furans have gone a day gliding)
feather patterns mimic those of the body or mane patterns.

body: anatomy

hands and feet: a furans hands and feet are clawed with large spikes, but not heavily plated, the furans arms are reinforced with muscle
to allow them to land without injury. the scales on the furans arms and legs are larger to protect from debris stirred when landing.

neck: the neck is a semi long length, and quite wide.
head: the head is large, to support large eyes able for night vision, it also allows it to support the large mouth and amounts of teeth a furan bears.
chest: a furans chest is deep, and wide, as its neck to support its large mass.

internal anatomy:

respiratory: furans have an unusual respiratory system, it is built to support two hearts, with large lungs, allowing more oxygen into the blood.
the furan lacks the pouch of methane withing its oesophagus, instead, when threatened, the furan would prodouce acid from its 2nd stomache (see digestive system)
and ignite it with the metalic components on its central canines.

digestive: furans and their subspecies have a semi-non ruminent digestive system, meaning the reptile has 2 stoamches, one for digestion and absorbtion of food and minerals.
the 2nd is to produce flameable acid as a defence if threatened.

reproductive: as they are mammilian, furans mate and breed in late winter, gestation varies between species. and give birth
to 2-9 pups in spring, the pups are suckled for 6 months after birth by the mother and are fed regurgitated meat products
by the father.

birthing complications: due to the large mass of pups produced in a litter, and reduced amounts of food supply, mothers have been
known to die during the birthing of their pups, the fathers, therefore, have adapted to nursing the amount of pups that they
are able to (2-4)

diet: furans are omnivorious, ranging from fish and small mammals, to even flowers, for some, large colorfull orchids provide a coloration.

behavior: furans are very social, enjoying one and others company when greeted with it, though when older in age, some furans adapt an agressive, intolorent attitude.

features:

eyes: the furans eyes are large, built for seeing in dark areas or during the evening, furans pupils are a black color
and the iris can me a range from 1-5 colors at a time, furans with injuries to the eyes and face have displaced reverse pupils (meaning theyve turned red, or a white color)
blind furans have no pupil and a grey-scale iris.

tail: the tail can vary in many ways but the typical reptile tail remanins
common extras on the tail can vary from a large plot of feathers, to butterfly type feather fans, and even accessories such as lanterns or scrolls.
tails also vary with sub-species and surounding environments.
