A YCH (Your.Character.Here) Commission, bought by .(here was the original sketch/advertisement for the Y.C.H, the description might better explain what a YCH is for those that don't know )
I was very glad to do this commission honestly. Not only was it my first YCH commission. But it was for a character that I had actually created and had up for adoption a long while ago, and KirasDarkLight had bought that character. From there the character has really evolved into more than just a design, but an actual "Character", whom has been drawn by several wonderful artists that KirasDarkLight had commissioned.
So this was really fun to do. It really made me feel like this character has come full circle with me. And I am just soo pleased that KirasDarkLight has enjoyed the character that much.
So, thank you for commissioning me, and for buying this grumpy butt in the first place. You're taking wonderful care of him. And I am always pleased to see him when he pops up in my messages/deviation feed some how.
Also, I feel I might have gone above and beyond the call of duty with this one in terms of details in the BG and stuff..... Oh well. Why not?

I used Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop Elements 4 for this drawing.Β And a wacom Tablet.
I drew the fire above the character, duplicated the layers (outline layer and the color layer underneath the outline layer) merged both those layers. Then duplicated again, so I had two fire layers. Then on one of the fire layers, I erased part of the fire, so it looks like it is blending on/off the tail, then I did the same to the other fire layer, but erased a bit more. The on the one with the least bit erasing, I lowered the opacity to make it a bit more transparent, so you can see more of the tail underneath it. Ant the other fire layer, lays on top.
Then add some bright blue fuzz/blur around the fire, play with the opacity of that to give the glow. And the when the whole image is merged/flattened, I used a smudge tool to give it the blurred motion look.
That's it really. It's sort of complicated, sort of easy. I hope I did not confuse you at my in trying to explain it.

I was thinking of possibly making a tutorial, but I don't have a way to really record a video of it. And at this point in time I am not uploading any TLK fan art, or fan art in general. Also, I do not really take requests. Unless I announce/offer it via journal. But thank you for the interest!

I remember drawing this character in a stream a while back! ^^
Very cool character and interesting story of how he has come back to be drawn by the original designer.

I have seen your picture, and I thought you did a good job on it. I liked the different coloration on his tongue. His teeth, and the anger in the drawing itself!

How do I even begin to describe just how amazing it is to see him come right back to his roots. Thank you so much for making this even possible by offering the YCH in the first place~! And for picking him to do of course. <3
This is wonderful for how I know he would have felt in the very last moments of his life as a demon, the anger and loss of his memory. That and with the way the fire is at his tail tip almost looks like it's a final seal, keeping what is left of him alive. You make me want to write out his story so badly. ;3;

And WRITE GOOD WOMAN! WRITE AWAY! I find it very cool that this even evoked a flicker of inspiration to make you want to write his story out. I hope to see more of him from other artists, and hope that you do delve more into his story. It could very well be an interesting one for sure!
