⭐️Backstory: This group of Oathbound is a six man team of mech piloting elites and trainees are sent out to search for holy relics called Grails, sought after by Paragons who wish to rule the galaxy after the fall of the Star Union. However they are a protect and serve force of justice, rooting out evil wherever it hides. They find and keep ancient tech under lock and key from those who wish to use it while also recruiting from local colonies. They are led by their commander Charlotte MacNamara, a veteran of combat and as stubborn as they come. Along with her is captain Jean-Chris Hardtack, faithful member of the Oathbound and covert specialist and lieutenant Gilligan Botulf, a diplomat with a love for bio chemistry and bio engineering in the xenoplague. Gilligan’s twin daughters who recently came out of training joined him as both were handpicked by Charlotte. Victoria is a hotheaded and combat ready individual with a mean streak while her sister Ophelia is a bookworm with gift of manipulating psionic powers. And lastly David Wolfgang, a member of the Wolfgang Merchant Family who is elbows deep in all sorts of legal and illegal dealings as he comes from a long family line of Paragons and not the nice kind. David thinks money can buy happiness and those around him so as a last minute add on to Charlotte’s team he was dropped onto her lap by her superiors, however Charlotte believes their mission comes first and anyone that challenges them will be delt with swiftly…
~Again, Charlotte is a prodigy of combat with quick thinking and leadership skills to boot. With a strong willpower and mind she’s everything if not courageous. She was once a foot soldier with a strong drive to lead, during her military career she and her team were attacked during a scouting party. Acid was used and half of her face was scared yet this didn’t deter her as she later down the line was chosen to be part of the Oathbound Promethean Project, land troops that used fire to exterminate hostile threats. In doing so she was chosen to also pilot one of the many Purifier Battlesuits, after some training she alongside many others fought as front line troopers on eradication missions for years. She served the Oathbound faithfully through hardwork and dedication although sometimes being very stubborn in key situations but again she became a stalwart Paladin of the Oathbound and eventually in her early 50s she was given the command of her own team. Each unit is given a military commander, covert specialist and diplomatic advisor and she knew of two individuals who would be perfect for their team.
~Jean-Chris comes from a religious family that believes in the Celestians, believing in peace through enlightenment and harmony with psionic powers that come from stars allegedly and to him this made sense. Instead for applying for the military at first, Jean-Chris had trained prior to learn and harness these ideals of control with Celestial abilities. Once done he enlisted into the military and like all others he was made a front line soldier, when put into conflict he would use his Celestian abilities to sway, convince or dissuade others to see his point of view which could later come in handy sometime later. A few years later he and his team would be called to join a war with a rouge Oathbound Battalion and with the Battalion’s stronghold proving to be superior he decided to do the unthinkable and snuck his way into the stronghold alone and sabotaged much of their defenses, doing this gave the Oathbound victory and won Jean-Chris an opportunity to work as a covert specialist and soon became a Paladin as well. He gained experience as information gatherer quite well, learning to keep a low profile while using his powers to leave him be or see things his way while his battle suit called the Light Bringer was custom made to fight long range and channel his Celestian powers through his suit. He’s become quite the go to person for solo covert missions while also being in abit of trouble here and there for embezzling pay but he swears it goes to the Celestian order. A man in his mid 40s and with plenty of covert and combat experience, Charlotte was at the battle of the Battalion and was impressed with his initiative so when she got the opportunity to command her own team chose him and he accepted although their ideals greatly differ from one another.
~Not much is known about Gilligan’s background except he was an orphan at a young age, young but brilliant with a love of learning and surpassed many of his advanced studies at 14 which included science and mathematics. His rapidly increasing accomplishments made his a phenomenon amongst his peers and some even said he’s go far in life as a researcher in the Oathbound, which is exactly what he did. When he graduated at the top of his class he would go on another planet with other individuals to be part of the Oathbound’s Bio Research Team, which meant discovering Xenoplagues and how to counteract them. He instantly became fascinated with the different types of Xenoplagues and would spend hours in his lab long after his colleagues had left the laboratory to continue his research. Eventually he’d be given an overnight officer to watch over him named Kassidy de Lacour, a station officer and second in command to the security chief. She would at first be annoyed by his constant over night experiments but after awhile grew complacent and would do her own thing until she was needed. For the next two years she’d watch him, occasionally helping in gathering samples or items for him which annoyed her even greatly…many spoke ill of Gilligan behind his back and he knew this but this was his passion so he didn’t care. After awhile Gilligan got into a dispute with a fellow researcher which escalated into a brawl, that brawl then escalated into a few key samples falling and mixing into a carnivorous overgrowth that quickly took to killing researcher and security officer alike. Gilligan and afew remaining researchers were trapped but saved by Kassidy and her security chief and were being escorted out before the chief was captured and killed. Everyone began to panic however Gilligan swallowed his fear and spoke up in a disheveled charismatic tone and led most of the remaining group of out the lab and later off the planet with fewer colleagues than before. Once returned to the Oathbound, Gilligan retired somewhat with PTSD from the ordeal and with the stress of the situation made his hair fall out considerably but he got frequent visits from Kassidy during that time which developed into a relationship and marriage. Kassidy became pregnant and was happy to be a mother which made Gilligan more than happy about anything to be a father…tragically however she didn’t survive the pregnancy but gave life to two twin daughters that gave him a new lease on life. He heard from a former colleague that there was talk of retaking the lb he once worked in and volunteered to help, revealing that during his marriage he had secretly worked on a possible way to reverse the process and was taken onboard for the mission. When they arrived he was put in control of the expedition with help from Charlotte who was still a Paladin at the time, they quickly established contact with the local mercenaries and came to an agreement of pay should the mercs succeed but Gilligan was using them so that their own men would be spared such a fate. With help from Charlotte’a purifier team and the mercs they managed to retake the lab at the cost of a combination of losses, mostly from the mercs and those who did survive were payed upon agreement. Retuning with good news of success and his excellent diplomacy skills he was chosen to be a Paladin but denied the opportunity however he gave it some thought. More money for him and his daughters would be good so a week later he would take the offer. Despite having training for his Marquis Battlesuit, a support only suit, he hardly ever uses it, going to diplomacy parties with other races and ensuring wars aren’t started…using the gift to gab to gain favor and occasionally missing the solidarity of his lab he does what he can now for his daughters. Charlotte knew this, contacting Gilligan years later to join her unit which included his daughters.
~The twin daughters of Gilligan and Kassidy, Victoria and Ophelia are prodigy Paladins in their own rights. Victoria is a thrill seeking recruit with the same combat prowess as her mother physically. She’s quick to put her mind to something and showed great promise in physical situations such a close quarters combat. Ophelia on the other hand is more book smart and hates getting into conflicts to the point of near pacifism however she was born with dark psionic powers, this discovery by her superiors at a young age pulled her from combat as she was studied and would later be trained by Senior Paladin Huxley Wunsworth. This split the twins from seeing each other often but their training greatly helped shaped them into who they are now. Years passed as Gilligan would often check on the two frequently, Victoria became one of the best combat officers in her unit and won several key battles with her group although sometimes making some cruel decisions, being promoted and a candidate to become a Paladin. While Ophelia continued to get wrapped up in her studies, learning about the Star Union and its history while under Huxley’s guidance about her powers and it’s dark intentions. Though Ophelia is hesitant at some times when it comes to mind domination of her enemies she is proficient in summoning entities to aid her, with enough training done with serious room to improve as Huxley recommended Ophelia to become a Paladin. The two sisters reunited during Paladin training, their instructors saw their potential with differing skill sets, Victoria was given the Protector Battlesuit with Voidtechnology while Ophelia was given the Warden Battlesuit for ranged support. The two were later assigned to Charlotte’s unit at the behest of Gilligan. Victoria would be chief of security while Ophelia would specialize in archaeological studies and expeditions.
~The Wolfgang Family, part of the Star Union’s elite citizens group known as the Paragons, the Wolfgang Family has ties to multiple groups and are part of several projects. From business deals with the Syndicate to scientific research with the Vanguard and trade of wild beats with the Amazons. After the collapse of the Star Union many Paragons fell into disarray, Paragons relied on cybernetic implants for eternal youth and superhuman abilities. With Paragons all over the galaxy decaying into cybernetic madness some were still in contract with other civilizations and did dealings with them to ensure this wouldn’t happen and got routine implant check ups in exchange for their services. David’s family was one of these groups who were in close contact with the Oathbound, the Wolfgang Family are Merchant Sicons, dealing in trade both legal and illegal, weapon manufacturing, information brokering and individual labor services (slaves ;-; ). David hasn’t gotten his implants like the rest of his family and is a total snob when it comes to dealing with the common folk, he flaunts his wealth and elitist status everywhere expecting things to go his way which occasionally tributes to the straining relations between the Wolfgang Family and Oathbound. As punishment for his foolishness he was sent to join the Oathbound military and surprisingly through some manipulation on the Oathbound’s part he became a Paladin on the spot as a morale and reputation boost with the Wolfgang Family but in reality it’s an attempt to get him away from civilization in hopes to get him killed by the wilds. He would be assigned to Charlotte’s team much to her dislike of the Paragons but David’s hacking is quite formidable with the rare data pad tool he acquired from home as he pilots the Warlord Battlesuit a close quarters combat suit. When he isn’t working or on missions, he is usually found partying with fellow Paragons and some choice Oathbound soldiers who kiss his boots enough to be invited. His true objective is to ensure that they find Grails so that his family is the ones who will rule as the next Star Union.
