The softness inherent in the film material you used here is something to behold (to use a slightly old-fashioned expression). I start to wonder what that crispy sharpness in sophisticated digital photo gear is really good for. Maybe for documenting, but not for the feeling of a particular shot. Did you use your Yashica here?
Great and lovely shot, great feel and great use of spaces - namely "wasting" a good 2/3 for a non-distinct foreground, but giving your actual target a lot of suspense that comes to live only through your use of "dead matter".
Very good. Very.

I must say that my 28mm and my old CANON 50 are not very good at crisp images. The 28mm opens too wide, and while with the 1.6 crop of the APS-C, it has a very decent depth of field even wide open, on the "full-frame" I have to pay more attention - which I don't do. Not only that here, but as far as I remember, the ISO 400 was not enough and I ended up using a slow speed. I have one regret for the composition, that is not have kneed down, so that I would have the right side of the door parallel to the frame. But with kids, you don't have a second chance, so I shot rather than paying attention to the details...

Very kind words, Bruno, and that really fit both what he was doing - these adventures he lives at every instant - and what I wanted to show.

That's an interesting point. I guess that even for photography, you still have to "create" them sometimes.

If I take this one [link] it can qualify as spontaneous, I was there, somebody passes by and I shot. BUT! I had gone twice to that spot already, without shooting anything, just trying to find the way to capture the building.

I have my camera all the time... because whenever I don't have it, the perfect moment magically happens!

Nice. I like how nothing is really in clear focus. It gives it a different sort of feel.

Thanks, Quinn. The low light forced me to open very wide. I use that lens usually on a 1.6x crop, thus with more depth of field, and I often get tricked with it on my film camera. So the lack of sharpness was not intentional, but I found it acceptable as well.

Yes, I can imagine one. As in these movies where kids turn into cruel monsters.

Thanks, Paul. I wish it would be a bit more sharp, but there was very little light.
