Man this kit has aged like trash. Finally had a chance to grab a RealGrade RX78 and decided to turn it into an RGM-79 as a sort of "Leader Unit" for my entry grade GMs.
Unfortunately, it doesn't really look much different from them. It doesn't stand out much, and it doesn't stand UP much either. Also this is my first real "hand grenade" model kit, because everything from the thumbs to the hips and hip plates and arms and EVERY PART is trying to just DISINTEGRATE in my hand.
- New paintjob on the chest/shoulders/waist/neck. Left the groin unaffected for once because those parts barely stayed on to begin with.
- Removed the chin, v-fin, and the eyes. Carved in the head and replaced it with some Gundam Breaker Burning Gundam's green clear plastic for a new visor..
- Some joints were improved and strengthened...but there's nothing I can do for those feet without making them into bricks...which still leaves a weak pair of ankles anyways.
