A map of Africa, its independent states and colonial territories in the year 1925, In an alternate timeline where the war of the Spanish Succession went ever so slightly differently, leading to a slightly different treaty at its end. Unlike our timeline, large parts of the continent were never colonized at all, although basically the entire continent was part of some European empire's sphere of influence at one point or another. Over the course of the 20th century, European domination and influence in Africa would wane, to be replaced by the influence of both local powers, and the American powers.
