Description
Man was not cut out to kill,not meant to murder.
You must be remade.
Cut out to
fit
the
form,
trimming off what stands out.
It will not do to get caught
on the barbs of conscience when
you need to choose when
you've got orders when
you're pressed when
you're afraid and
you know you wont get away,
by choosing not to choose.
A moments hesitation,
and he will
choose
for
you.
And when the choice is made,
when one is torn
and another one ripped to shreds
(confetti everywhere),
will there be anything left
but paper cuttings,
and another blood red mark
in the margin?

i love the imagery of this. the "confetti everywhere" line i think is my favorite. the contrast of something so ghastly described in such a lighthearted phrase is fantastic.

Well, I looked at it as a body of work that was effective in its integrity (as something removed from something lengthlier). I confess I did not read it with a critical eye for its structure.
