Description you won't read this poem
I will never write it

I realised
when my bike was stolen
that walking
takes you closer
than riding a bike
driving a car
flying a plane

hearing the crunch
of my shoes on gravel
beholding a clouded sky
back lit by the full moon
pausing to touch
the bark of a birch

smelling snow flakes
the first ones this year
to stay for a while

the cold air
clears my mind as every
smoking breath
condensing on my glasses
obscures my vision

yet my focus of expansion
remains clear
closer with every step to home

I know
warmth will greet me
in the arms of my love
my experiences melt
like so many snowflakes
fallen on the highway

I will loose
the smell of snow
rough bark against my skin
the sound of gravel
streaming moonlit clouds
forget my sense of clarity
and be none the wiser

I won't write this poem
you will never read it

<-I'm not actually laughing. I'm just more likely to be laughing than to not be laughing.

I agree that the walking line is emotive...maybe even surprisingly so.
The patterns of it remind me of a walk with brief observational or contemplative pauses.

That's pretty spot on what it was. My bike actually got stolen when I was on choir practise, so I had to walk home.
Glad you liked that line.

I love that you employed all the senses in this. The line "walking takes you closer" is wonderfully simple while being effectively emotive. Well done

Oh, and I who thought it was a way too blunt way to employ them.I probably will review this some time in the future, but it felt good getting it out somehow. Seems like I do write poetry as a therapy at times after all.
Glad that you picked that line especially since I liked it when I wrote it, though it does feel a bit ambiguous too.

Thank you so much for the

Some of my best stuff has come from "therapy poetry" - never underestimate the power of raw emotion.

You're very welcome

I've probably been writing it from the start. Just didn't want to admit it.

I will not be moved
I will not awaken
to feel
the fabric which
weaves the lives of others

I will not sense
the tones of unspoken
words
silence will surfice

distance to far
to feel...

pleasure is near
warm real...
sensory
compassion is
not

this subtle lie
assailed
I will be moved

care the agent
brotherhood the bond
awaken - awaken

But oh, Joseph you are the wiser.
Yet retaining you compassion to love the ordinary miracles of family and home.

Hehe. There's only two people here in Uppsala: the ones who has had their bike stolen, and those who will have their bike stolen. The only thing they have in common is that they probably wont see it again.
Thanks for hoping, but I would honestly be surprised if I managed to recover it.
