Text wanted to make a robot to help people, while hoping it would have feelings, with this a young woman Char who is gifted with the extreme powers of music, later to become Tyler's love interest, into something more, also Text became great friends with her, later Text introduces Andrew (her boyfriend, or {the bear guy who lives next door} according to Tyler) to Tyler, not so much on feelings (Andrew's upset with him living with Text), but they do become GREAT friends.
