1) In 1191 A.D. parties are crime. (And Templars jumped into that opportunity)
2)Assassin parties are rave and Caste couldn't hold much longer.

In assassin parties forget about booze: Assassins doesn't drink alcohol. About drugs, well hashas(poppy) that assassins used was narcotic. Even Altaïr exposed to it (i guess first Animus session -before tutorial one looks like broken- was a product of drugged sessions which made by Al Muallim.
But according to Codex, Altaïr forbade the "old ways" whch means after him "high assassins" only be seen when they performed Leap of Faith...
But no doubt, all of them were hell of a breakdancer.

Hashas could be a "real myth" because there's known that in Syrian reigon people use narcotic herbs because alcohol consumation isn't much welcomed in reigion (Most of Syrian people is Muslim) or simply custom.
But we're talking about assassins: When people are takling about truth they say "Nothing is true" when others are tied down by rules such like moral, religion custon or such they reply "Everything is permitted." If drinking or not drinking is a prohibition which brang by a religional rule so, why they obey?

"Sect" is the word that you seek. In Islam there's sects like been in Christianity. It's a matter of choice. Different forms of belief. But same in the essence. Worshipping the same god, following the same prophet.
It's hard to put assassins into a category. They simply don't apply any of the rules. They only bounded by the tenets of the Creed.
As an idiom "Garden of Eden" was only a description, written in holy books. But paradise full of women? That's Hassan Sabbah's (in AC1, Al Muallim's) imitation of paradise. A fake made-up scene which built for attracting more men into Creed. (If you die for me, you'll go there: Live ads rock! 
Funny thing is you see "the paradise" during the game. It's fortress' backyard. (The place that you fought with Al-Muallm) If you went there before the fight, you can find servant-girls. Al Muallim sends drugged men into the garden and they believe there's paradise. (Wonders of being high) The first buzzed Animus session in AC1 was that drugged fake paradise dream -sort of.

I know Altair has changed everything later and he tells this in codex. Same with creating family, assassins were forbidden to have a wife and kids, didn't they?

First, Judging jokes which made for lulz according to norms of intelligence is absurd. Sometimes stupidy's the key to a good laugh. (Knowing all that stuff doesn't keep me make fun of ALtaïr or Eizo does it?)
Second, Garden exist in the Masyaf fortress for real. Well, in ruins now.
I seriousy don't know about settling a family. But if i don't misunderstand, in AC1, some of informers (who's also assassins) that Altaïr helped have wife and kids. So settle down a family could be permitted... Even Altaïr and Malik's fathers could be also assassins, maybe

Yes, few informers had a family but informers could have it. I guess they weren't directly in the creed, they were just finding informations. Although in the game they had tasks to kill a specific targets so I don't know what to think about it. Da'i couldn't make any bonds besides their master. At least that's what i heard.
