The idea of this sketch came from an actual statue called "Hades Abducting Persephone," you guys can google it and find pictures of the statue on there. So yeah I checked out a Greek Mythology book and read the section on Hades, and I came across a picture of the statue of Hades abducting Persephone, and as I was looking at it, I was trying to imagine the subjects in Disney style, trying to picture in my head the Disney Hades abducting Persephone. So I decided to draw my own version of the statue but using the style of Disney. Now what the characters are wearing in the pic are actual from the statue, hence Hades being half covered. Like I said before, I wasn't really fond of the Disney style of Persephone, (yes she was in the movie) so I actually based her here off of Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty. If you guys want to color this pic in, be my guest, but let me know, I would love to see it!Oh and if you were wondering, the MV is for My Version.

I was going to say, she DOES look a lot like Rose. I always imagined Persephone was like Aurora in personality too- gentle, loves beauty, sweet, ethereal. if you take requests, would you actually make one of Aurora meeting Hades?

Persephone was in the Disney Hercules? Where?

In two parts of the movie she makes a cameo. First part I think is in the beginning of the movie, she is sitting next to her mother, Demetr. In the end part when all the god's were welcoming a new godly Hercules home, she was one of the gods. She wore a pink-flower tiara, had blonde hair and had pink skin.

Yeah, Hades and Persephone are a bit of a match made in Stockholm, aren't they? And THANK YOU for not putting shirtless Hades in Mickey Mouse shorts. That is an image no one who saw that episode of HoM will soon be able to scrub from their brains.

I cried when I saw that as a kid. I think I fell out of my chair and cringed horribly. It... it was just so scaring.

Yes she did appear in the movie but as a background character. In the end of the movie in the scene where Hercules can finally return home to Olympus and the gods and goddesses cheer him on, if you look right behind Hercules there is a pink skinned blonde hair goddess with a big flower tiara. Now it is not really confirmed that it's Persephone, but being that she is the daughter of Demeter who is the goddess of harvest I (and some other people) are certain that it's her.

This picture is one of my favourites! It even inspired me to get up off my lazy bum and do my own Hades Abducting Persephone picture -- but mine is based on a classical painting instead of the statue (even though that statue is epic).

Hell yeah he does, there was an episode of Hercules and House of Mouse where we see Hades shirtless, and yes he has a frikin' hot body! I always wondered what he was hiding under that huge toga of his, thank you Disney for letting us see!
