It would probably explain why Harry's prone to angst moments. He looks like James but acts more like Snape and his mother go figure.

Interestingly, even Harry admitted his dad was a jerk when he found out what he did to Snape (and he apparently hated Snape.) He really struggled with this and found it rather disturbing when he found out. He also couldn't understand why his mother would fall in love and marry him, I'm trying to figure it out myself (why someone would marry the guy who picked on your best friend throughout school is beyond me.) Apparently, James changed a lot when out of school but you never really learn much about him so who knows. It's also interesting he named his son after his father and his daughter after his mother even though he never knew them. His other son that he named after Dumbledore and Snape made more sense (I think) because he actually knew them and they influenced his life (they also both had dark pasts and deeds that they tried to escape.)

I agree, JKR shoule have better explained WHETHER§
A) James matured and stopped bully people, only defending himself by Snape, like Harry and Lupin
B) or kept bullying Snape EVEN WHEN Snape did not attack, like Draco
He and Lily kept being Sirius' friend, and Sirius is still justifying bullying, that I do not like

Yeah, unfortunately, but that's what fanfiction/fanart is for. We don't really get to see who James grows up to be since he dies so young before the beginning of the series. I like to think that maybe James realized what he did was wrong and felt really guilty about bullying Snape but he never had to chance to make up for it because he died and Snape was a death eater. I didn't like how Sirius tried to defend the bullying to Harry either.Β

Yes, we would have. Harry Snape anyone? It could have been interesting for him to have been born between a very light and very dark set of characters. But then, we wouldn't have had him as a teacher. That would smell like dog buns. :/

i feel like lilly and severous fans act like snape was compleatly inocent and james stole her away wich is actaly copetlly untrue snape pushed her aaway when he called her called her mudband began to get invoved with the death eaters lood two yeas before she and james started daiting and itis menioned that james changed before lilly took interst. i do think they would be cute tohgeter but it woudsl brake cannon a bit too much for my teate in some way i ship ther characterss but not them if that maks any sence

I agree with pretty much everything you've said, yes it was Severus' fault that he lost Lily, his hatred for muggleborns was just too strong to accept the fact that Lily is a muggleborn and there was no way that they could be together if he had that big of hatred for that group of people and that his interest in the Dark Arts also pushed Lily away, but it just felt so heartbreaking in Snape's point of view in the Prince's Tale in the book, and boy was it a tearjerker in the movie! Yeah and I know that James was a bully when he was a teenager and he grew out of it and that's the person whom Lily fell for, but my hatred for teenage James is greater than the respect I have for adult James, sorry! But you pretty much summed it up!

God the whole SnapexLily phenomena is like the SeiyaxUsagi thing from Sailor Moon. Has anyone else noticed that? Also, DKCissner, have you heard Ministry of Magic's "Bravest Man I Ever Knew"? Its a song that sums up Snape's feeling for Lily, and I think some of it is Harry's feeling toward him too. Not in a romantic way though. Just respect. lol
