Description Lineart of Lorelai - Angela "Lorelai" Preston, my little Requiem Ven-torrie. Ventrue by clan, old school Toreador Poseur by personality, and very much a political animal. Sometime descedant of Eva (can't decide if she is a childe, grandchilde, or simply a contributor to the bloodline).

A member of both the Carthian Movement and the First Estate, she plays the two sides against each other whilst balancing between them.
Here Lorelai is in her 'Invictus' garb, slightly anachronistic evening wear designed to do anything but remind her elders of her actual age and status.

I want to colour this and add it into a character sheet.

Kindred, Ventrue, Toreador and other terms belong to White Wolf
Lorelai belongs to me.

Very beautiful linework; it has a nice light, airiness about it.

Thank you very much for your appreciation
I thought it was good, in the end, but a little over-complicated and the pose isn't growing on me. I should have altered it a bit.

Thank you!!
It's only referenced work, but I really wanted to try and find out how to use this tablet so I've done a few of these stock drawings

No problems at all - what's off about it, if you can explain? I'm happy to correct things.
The only thing is the original reference I linked is a photo and her arm is exactly the same..???

maybe its just the perspective but the part under the arm looks off...

I like this drawing, I saw the reference too and the resemblance is very well done, good proportions. The detail of lace on the dress and the hair is great.

I think is a good base for coloring, I would like to see this with color and comment it then (:.

Do you think the right arm is ok? Someone else made a comment about it.

blueabyss17404 In reply to Dkelabirath [2010-07-24 00:20:10 +0000 UTC]

I think is ok, I mean is just like in the reference picture, but maybe because itΒ΄s lines only, the perspective doesnΒ΄t fully reflect...working with references sometimes brings that problem.

I think I understand. I might tidy it up a bit, make it thinner and a little longer by altering the glove.

I love how delicate and clean your lineart is - the sepia's a nice touch.

Her dress makes me all kinds of happy, too, though as much as I like the texture all the folds give her skirt I feel like some of them look too scribbled to really feel like folds since they don't make sense as folds. Much like I don't think that sentence made sense. Oh well...

Something about her face throws me off a bit - I love her hair, but I think something about her eyes is too stare-y. Kind of creeping me out. Though I suppose creepy is appropriate for the character.
Damn Ventrue, always making trouble for decent clans...

Dkelabirath In reply to LadyNoodles [2010-07-23 17:32:29 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much for the comments! The sepia is mainly because I mean to colour this image at some point; Lorelai has brown hair and eyes, and a vaguely Hispanic skintone, so it fits. Also, the stock model I used to draw this from had the loveliest red-brown hair and that inspired me too. I understand about the stare, and thank you - as I say I do intend to add to the eyebrows and darken her eyes, so no wonder they look a bit piercing on white. Thank you for all the feedback

Both the Carthians and the Invictus? Very Persephone Moore...
Have I mentioned how wonderfully you draw? Really, I wish I could even hope to match this kind of beautifully-detailed work.
I know, I know, I'm being awfully gushy over it.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Dkelabirath In reply to Tommah [2010-07-23 17:08:46 +0000 UTC]

Perhaps a little Persephone, but Lorelai actually has status in both
She was Sired by an Invictus member and has actually gained a littel ground there, but prefers the atmosphere of the Carthians.. and acts as a woman-on-the-inside to both. I created her with my then-Storyteller before reading of Persephone.
Thank you so much for your amazing compliments, and if you like, it's available for colouring

I would if I could, believe me, but I don't have the equipment to do so right now. (for some reason my tablet's funny and I haven't gotten around to reinstalling Photoshop)

Very interesting... I wish everyone I've gamed with put as much thought into their characters (besides the few people who do). Oh well~

Dkelabirath In reply to Tommah [2010-07-23 17:33:21 +0000 UTC]

I'm sorry your tablet is a hassle.. and I only got to play her in one session! Onoooes. The Storyteller lost his background over summer and I miss her very much. John's character Lauren came from the same game (also in my gallery).

Tommah In reply to Dkelabirath [2010-07-23 22:41:28 +0000 UTC]

Oh well. It's served me well for a while now, so it's not surprising it's time to get a new model.

Aww. I still remember my first WoD character: an Indian library assistant who was a bit too into the lore he left behind when his parents came to the UK before he was born.
...My Storyteller was a bit too generous with XP and equipment, and so his character sheet now states he has an AK-47, the Combat Marksmanship merit, and only five skills he isn't at least capable of trying. Not bad for a mortal, really.
I may bring him back as a mentor NPC of some sort in the future, actually...

I'm glad you could afford one.

I'm rather scared of his proficiency.. but of course Mortals shine in Skills, it's generally up to the supernaturals to raise their powers and Attributes to stupidly high levels.
