Some of you may recognise this lineart from a month ago or so - I was always intending to colour it, but the more I look at it, the more I Hate this Lineart! It's all weirdly proportioned and it just doesn't lok like Vash.Oh well. You asked me to colour it in so here it is.
In Photoshop CS and Photoshop 7; the background is edited from a monochrome internet image.
Please fullview it, at least if you have time, and tell me what you think!
The lineart took about 3 hours, the colouring probably the same. Second ever real CG piece! ...which I should have posted weeks ago, because now I know how to do more than Dodge+Burn ..
As before I've used other pictures to practise from, then I drew the final work after (well I had to keep practising the face 'till the end, its so tricky to draw small heads in manga)

The gun's at an uncomfortable angle, but I love the contours. Reguarding your comment on the fact that it dosen't look like him: Of course he dosen't look like him exactly, if he did, you might as well trace it... it would save you time and trouble. The thing is, you can recognize the efforts that you took in drawing Vash. I say you did a good job, and I love it! *Fav*

Yeah, it did take a little while to get this one 'finished'. Unfortunately, my best work usually turns out as sketches and my worst as posted pictures

Looks good, the jacket is really well done, but I'm not sure about the gun. Its a bit difficult to see which direction it's going, and I feel it should have more detail. Did I mention that the folds in his coat look awesome?
I just tried drawing Vash for the first time, and I had trouble drawing his face too.

I don't like the gun either... Well, I drew this just as I found out about Trigun, and basically I used reference pics from the comic covers to draw the gun. And unfortunately I picked one that was.. well.. a bit weird. It looks kinda similar

Oh, man, that's wonderful. It looks like something straight out of the manga. Yasuhiro Nightow would be proud.
The only thing I can see that's not perfect is the gun and his knee. His expression is great, and I love the dimension of it, how the frontal tail thing of his coat is comin' right at'cha.

Which is weird, as I actually used a reference from the front of one of the mangas to draw it. It looked just like this. But I don't really like it either :S

I can't believe how good you are at cg-ing already. The colors and tones and wot really give the feeling of one of the official illustrations! Very detailed shadows, especially with all the creases in his coat! The really has a desert evening vibe to it. I'd say that the empty area to the left is a little distracting but overall this is stunning work

I had to learn to colour before I could colour it. It took 2 weeks. Ick.
