No new comments in over 4 years? well I'll change that - It's interesting to see what was going on in the formerly live and well Terraspace community on dA before I even knew of this site's existence. Still, I would have been blown away by this as little as a few years ago. And I agree that too few illustarte gas giants either. The mostly-shadowed lighting on the planets give sthe impression they are lit by a small, dim star too something like this would make an awesome remake I think

Gas giant are trully very difficult to make and this one is great I want to make one for my next science ficiton work and for the moment the result is not good at all, i must work more. Great work here

Awesome. Don't see many gas giant planetary art. 2 questions: 1st, How'd you make the gassy texture? 2nd, this may seem a bit stupid, but how do you (and most other planet artists) get that nebula-like cloud effect one the stars?

nice the "storm eye" looks a bit simple on second look, but nice nevertheless. please, tell me how you did the texture

I think that the twirl on the gas giant is a bit too outsanding, it looks like to obviously the liquify or twirl effect, besides that the piece has a nice feel- some good work here man. (it cool to see some different planet ideas like that).

Yay! I can see full-view!

This is really awesome, I love the texture on the gas giant, the top part of the globe especially looks very like Jupiter or Saturn... wouldn't want to be on the Earthlike planet, the tides there must be horrendous

Ok I like the starfield and the planets, but there are some elements that make me really confused about the supposed size of the gas "giant"...

First of all, the big rocky planet in the back makes the gas "giant" far less gigantic. So, if the gas giant is supposed to look really gigantic, I'd get rid of the big rocky planet. Btw, as far as I know, gas planets can never be smaller than rocky planets

Also, the earthlike satellite has rings, and that just doesn't seem to fit there. Most of the time it's the big gas planets that have rings.

(I think I also would have spread the detail of the clouds on the gas giant a bit more, instead of concentrating it on a relatively small part of the surface...)

But anyway, this only has something to do with realism. If it was your intention to play with sizes and get people confused about it, then you've succeeded and it's original and well done

Btw, I really like the colours of it, especially on the starfield!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I just loooooooooove the atmosphere on your gas giant! I think I fell in love with it

very pretty texturing on the Jupiter-like planet. The change about mid-planet confuses me a little, but still a great job.

That is very exceptional, although for some reason the yellowish colour on the other big planet - I'm not saying that it's not good - don't appeal to me that much, oh what the heck we all got different colour tastes. Overall this is very well done.

Nice work - especially on the gas giant and the starfield. I like the subtle effect the stars create in your pictures. I'm guilty of making mine too bright

This looks great. I like the details in the dark patch on the top of the planet, it reminds me of the red spot on Jupiter.
