The strength of this shot is how the focus is on what the model has done to make her body her own, rather than relying on the normal trappings and cliches of nudes. The Tattoos, piercings, nail polish, hair, everything that is eye catching and seductive about the scene is self derived. It is sexy, but not because of images related to sex. The pose is about as anatomically alluring as a Barbie doll everything sexy are in the pieces of self expression. To compare it to a burlesque show. Yes, we are being flashed but with glimpses of her personality.
What I walk away from the piece with, is the idea that knowing what someone looks like naked is only the most superficial level of intimately knowing a person.
If there is something I would say detracts, it is the background. the model kind of blends in with it. Had it been a little less busy or been a little more contrasting to her, the colors on her would have absolutely popped. especially the hair. That being said, the intent and subject are impactful.
