Why would Scar kill anyone now?Β He got away with murder. Simba wants to GIVE his position as king to Scar. He's got a love interest in Sarafina. He's needed. He's respected. Simba would be looked down upon as a disappointment that refused his responsibilities while Scar would be looked up to as the brother that saved the Pridelands after Mufasa's downfall. Scar could have cubs now, and they would be his heirs to the throne. He could be king, have a bunch of cubs, grow old and die loved and respected. (Until the afterlife, when the truth comes out.)
His life looks comfy now. Why would he throw that all away for revenge?

Love this page so much. Considering Simba witnessed his father's death his behavior is very realistic here. Sure, Mufasa didn't want to die and Simba probably knows that but he adored his father and he feels alone. Well done!

It's just to keep the comic rolling, skipping over the whole speech, so not to make the scene in the comic so lengthy. This is also an au- so maybe that part simply didn't happen? /shrug I'm just the translator. XD

The thing is - I don't remember him saying "right" at all (even after the speech) XD and if that's so, that pretty much changes the situation, and doesn't make Mufasa the liar Simba considers him to be. But maybe I'm just wrong or don't remember correctly lol.

And then Mufasa's all "Son, let me tell you something my father told me. Look at the stars, blah blah blah, so whenever you feel alone, know that those kings will always be there to guide you, and so will I."
Which that last part is more or less "I won't leave you" in king fancy talk.
