Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Sky High, Spiderman and the Superman movies would like to have a word with you.Β

Sky High is terrible. There's a point where one character is flying, but the fact he's on wires is so obvious.Β

How can you sayΒ Sky High is terrible? It's a good movie. That problem you pointed out is so minor it comes off as nit-picking. Β

It's just weak. The fight choreography is worse than most 80s action movies.

No it's not. I don't see what's wrong with theΒ fight choreography. I say it looks alright.Β

It's just not very well done, compared to other movies at the time. There's one particular bit, where the main guy punches the villain's helmet and breaks it, and you can tell the actor was putting no force into it at all. I've just checked, and the movie was meant to be a spoof of superhero movies, hence why it's so unserious. It also only had a budget on $20 million, about 10 times less than most superhero movies of the 2000s. It also came out just 3 years before Iron Man.

There were unserious films before, yes, but even then they had better acting etc. The helmet punch looked like the actor just lightly touched the helmet. No matter how strong you are, you still have to to throw the punch with some speed. Punch at the same speed as a normal human, you will get the same result even if you're Superman. the super strength enables you to move your fist faster than a normal person could, which is what allows you to punch through walls etc.

Sky High just kinda looked like it was being made/directed by people who didn't really know what they were doing. It looked so amateurish.

So what? I just watched the entire clip of that fight, and I still say that he was putting force into it. And no, he did NOT lightly touched it. Will likely punched the helmet hard enough to only break it off and have Gwen's head remain intact. What would you rather have Will do? Take off Gwen's entire head?

Hey, that is an insult to the people who spented time making the film. And here's a fun fact, they were going to make a franchise out of Sky High, meaning that if the sequels had gotten made, they would've gotten a bigger budget as the series went on.Β

You can argue all you want, but I am still going to win this fight.Β

Are you sure you watched the fight? His hand was practically moving in slow motion. Force equals mass times acceleration. The human arm is pretty light, so you need a lot of acceleration, which we don't see. You can't beat the laws of physics. A better idea would've been to pull the helmet open instead. Honestly, that would've looked cooler..

I'm not insulting the people who made the movie, but it's objectively a terrible movie. For comparison, Terminator, made 21 years earlier, with less than half the budget and inferior technology, earned almost as much at the box office, and managed good action etc. The problem Sky High has is it comes off as a parody, not a comedy, because it's not funny, at all.

I'm glad Sky High never became a franchise. I prefer superhero movies to be seinsible, not silly.

Yes, I saw the fight. I watched it on YouTube, you stupid idiot. You think I wouldn't be responding to you for nothing? Fuck the laws of physics. If Will had torn off the helmet by pulling it, he would've most likely torn off Gwen's head as a result because of the force. Different methods, same results.

Even if you had said you weren't insulting the people who made the movie, you're still disrespecting the many hours that went into the making of the film. Besides, what if I said "Terminator is bad because the effects sucked and it looks dated"? How would you feel about that? It's a different movie in the same situation.

Sky High isn't funny, huh? Then what about the one sequence where Will almost got crushed by a car and then flunged about when Coach Boomer wanted to see what powers Will had, not knowing he didn't have any at the time? Or the one scene where Will's father The Commander kept breaking the phones because he was pushing the buttons too hard? Or the part where The Commander was surprised to see that Royal Pain was a girl with Royal Pain replying "Of course I'm a girl you idiot!" as a result because the Commander didn't realize Royal Pain's true gender? You don't think those parts are funny? Those made me laugh. You obviously have a poor sense of humor.

Oh, you're glad Sky High never became a franchise? Well let me tell you what they had planned for their sequels, because you'll feel like an idiot by the end of the day.

The director has said that there were originally going to be four movies, one for each of Will's years at Sky High, with the scope of the plot getting grander in each one, culminating in a villain powerful enough to threaten the entire universe in the final film. It was hinted, for instance, that the Big Bad of the second film would be Baron Battle, and unlike Gwen the Baron is heavily implied to be an outright murderer. As well, it was stated that the third and fourth villains would be a planetary and finally a universal threat. It makes Gwen's plan from turning people into babies and raising them to be evil look tame by comparison.Β

This was mentioned from the Word of God postings on the IMDB forums way back in the day before they got disabled.

I got this info from TV Tropes.

Piece of advice, do some research before you jump to conclusions.

She was clearly already knocked out or whatever, so destroying the helmet achieved nothing. Removing her arm controls would've been better.
