Description Was looking at the new Mint Clearloox Theme & Mint Elementary icons that was released for LMDE today and thought I'd make an Avant Window Navigator dock to go with it.

You need the bzr branch of AWN to use the Lucido style for the dock.

hi love your work, using this with awn but having problem getting a suitable emerald theme.
you mentioned you created this for mint clearloox but i can't seem to find this theme.
i was at the gnome-look.org site for quite some time but can't find a suitable emerald theme that goes with this very cool panel.
really appreciate if you could point me in the right direction or if any of you could suggest an emerald theme that will go with this nicely.
thanks very much in advance.

so would this work in a Gnome3 session or a gdm session?

I am not sure if AWN works in Gnome 3, so I cannot say yes or no. It does work in Gnome 2 though.

Thank you much . But why doesn't it work well for you?

It always seems to bring my system to a crawl. Scrolling or clicking in AWN there is a good 1+ second delay. I may give it another shot tho, its been a few months and I know there have been a few updates.

I have an AMD 3800+ with 6 Gigs of Ram and a Geforce 9800GT (PCI-E), so hardware shouldnt be an issue I wouldnt think.

That's odd because my system is no where near what yours is and it runs fine. Good luck though with trying it out again!

They must have fixed it recently. Its running with your Mint Dock now and its just as fast as the gnome panel. I dont suppose you or any of the Mint team have found a way to get the Mint Menu in AWN?

I am sure if you follow the tips on here [link] you may be able to substitute the Cardapio menu for the Mint menu. I may try that out when I get home from work though.

I did notice that the Cardapio menu does not look as good on AWN as it does on the Gnome panel though. I do with that the AWN developers would make a better menu though. Maybe I will shoot a post or something to Clem and see what he could do about it, or I may try my hand at it myself! Don't hold your breath lol.

I havent tried Cardapio on AWN yet, but I have/had it on the gnome panel. Its a beautiful menu, especially now that it follows your gtk theme. I have Gnomenu on AWN now. Its 'ok', but none of the themes suit my tastes.

Yeah I was reading about GnoMenu just a little bit ago. I may try that when I get home too, as well as trying to make a new theme for it especially since I never really liked any of the themes as well.

I just like how the Mint Menu can do so many things. Especially the recent romeo updates. Installing and removing applications right from the menu etc.

I totally agree. I just wish it was able to be themed better.

Thank you for the comment.

Your best bet would be to follow this link here [link] But do NOT follow step 4. If you don't already have it, get Ubuntu Tweak and follow these steps here:

1. Open Ubuntu Tweak
2. Go to Session Control
3. In the Panel dialog, add in "avant-window-navigator" without quotes.
4. Log off and back in for the changes to take effect.
