Description I felt it about time I uploaded a progress pic here. Just to make sure I'm not losing the touch completely

Armour's coming along nicely and all major parts are done. I've moved to Norway as well, which was kind of hard with this guy in the back seat.

So, unless you guessed it, this is a Space marine costume, Power armour of the Salamanders chapter. Not painted yet. Built out of hot glue and yoga mats. And a bit of foam here and there.

I am not sure about the spikes on the shoulders, look a bit Chaos-y, but the armor and especially the scale-cloak look awesome!

But that's why I picked Salamanders It's one of the chapters not ruined by GW (yet), so you can still have some artistic freedom in their design! I picked the idea up from a Salamanders sketch I found here on dA (I havn't found it since, though...) and applied it. With a bit of paint on I bet it will look a lot more astartes, otheerwise I'll chop en down to be a bit stubbier.

The Salamaders have spikes, yes, but more stubbier ones, Xavier the Chaplain has some on his coat, but more like thick plates from a salamander's spine. 


But that's just my personal oppinion, so you don't have to mind it. ^^

Ahhh, you're referring to protruding scales! I had you misunderstood. These are teeth.

 
Also; found the original inspiration for the spines. Ridiculously massive armour, but some nice design features

Yes, Greyall has really massive armors with chests five times the with of the head, anatomically rather strange, but I agree, awesome designs! *nods*
