Well, I don't think that that particular kind of gag is very effective in real life, so talking through the gag should be rather easy for Maxima. Just my opinion though...

Hmmm, maybe, they don't seem all to silencing do they? Of course I've never tried it on anyone or something like that so I would'nt know. Tape and Ball gags, to my knowledge, are supposed to work pretty well.
