I agree with you.
I think they are wrong about her being Fluttershy 2.0, it's actually Marble Pie for that notion. And Twilight in her case, she is just herself. She is like Twilight Sparkle Season 1, but in a different world along with her personality being reset and all. We saw who she is when she pursues on her studies rather than friends.
Which is why I also love that idea and it's very appealing.
