Of course they were not 'true' cataphracts. That distinction belonged to the Persians. Like the Romans however, the Byzantines adopted the fighting styles, the weapons and armor, even the lifestyles of not only the Persian Dehgans but I can also see Gothic, Germanic and Vandal influences in this. 2000 years of flexibility.

Nicely done man.

Wow wonderful work Byzantine history is so cool, and sadly over looked. You did a fantastic job with the armor and its details.

So true. People always think of Byzantine empire was stagnant. It lasted hundreds of years and considering all the chaos in the Western Roman Empire that was no mean feat.

I couldn't agree more. I'm a history major at university and sadly I've never seen a Byzantine Empire course. I'm really surprised by this I mean there's so much there.

If I could make a request, could you do one of the Byzantine Kavalorioi, their mounted archers/crossbowmen?

It is a developement in cavalry warfare that came originaly from Parthans or SCythians, I think, passed on the Persians, and to Greece and beyond... Cultural diffusion of ideas.

I heard it was the base, the prototypal equipement for knights of europe. Maybe...
