That is an epic touch with the bloodstained and repaired gash over the left eye, and then additional battle scarring on the right.
Looks like the owner of this helmet has seen some action.

This particular helm I believe had a $650 price tag... The Client had a Larp character that this was specifically created for and he was mauled by a werewolf. The "re-stitched" gash was from this history and he made up his face with a rigid collodion scar... Looked REALLY cool when he took the helm off and there was still a scar...
