Whhaaat? Guess I should have been more clear, my problem isn't that she's showing a lot of skin at all. In fact that's the opposite of a problem, I very much like the sexy/cute belly dancer vibe. Wouldn't change that at all.

I mean, her outfit needs some tweaking for the sake of shape flow and that sort of thing. And her color scheme could be better. That's the stuff I never felt was quite right.

In particular, while her pants change from version to version, they all could handle the crotches better. In older versions she's got that black pantie thing with a gold belt that brings her torso to a complete stop and doesn't accentuate the hips in the right way. And the newer version has a black bikini bottom instead which still breaks up the organic shape flow and the gold belt part is now some weird extra hip ribs. While the gold parts add to the hip shape contrast, they don't do it in a very... organic way, I guess? Which does more harm than good for accentuating the belly dancer hip-focused dances. Plus, I'm not even sure what the new gold hip ribs even are there for, in terms of clothing functionality, but that's a very minor gripe. And beyond the pants, I never liked how her gold headband frames her face or interacts with her hair.

As for the color scheme, I primarily think it simply needs more contrast. While the hues are certainly different, it's mostly very mid-tone across the board. And as long as I'm at it, I don't think her clothes went with the best possible red to play off her purple hair. Since I like the purple of her hair more, I'd change the clothing colors to fix that.

I use the pen tool in Photoshop for the most part. It's probably not a common way to do it.
