Looks terrifying. And badass.Β
A lot of people don't like this boss fight and argue it doesn't fit The Joker's profile. And in all honesty, I can't disagree with them on the first half of that statement. I don't like it either. The fight is very non-Joker.Β However, I can understand why The Joker would do this to himself.
While Joker has always been seen as a bringer of chaos wrapped in insanity, he's not stupid, and has always proven himself to be very creative, making up for his lack of combat skills and physical prowess; and even then, he can surprise you. He's practically the opposite of Bane, who isn't stupid either, and is actually one of Batman's most intelligent enemies. Batman can't beat Bane in a match of physical prowess; he has to beat Bane by outsmarting him and being tactical, usually by targeting Bane's Venom Tank on his back. Joker is the opposite; Batman can't really outsmart him, and just has to power through and be extremely on-guard, leaving Batman mostly on the defensive while he deals with Joker's tricks and traps, before just being able to beat down the clown. Keep this in mind.Β
But here's the big question: What does Joker want? What's his goal? Most of the time, it's causing people misery and suffering to entertain himself. But consider the worst crimes that Joker has ever done. Cripple Batgirl. Killed a Robin. Tortured and broke another. To what end? Learn Batman's identity? Joker taunts it, but for every time he had Batman unconscious, he's never pulled off the Caped Crusader's mask. Joker...doesn't really care who Batman is. It's just another misdirection. An excuse for the less crazy to work for him or follow his plans. So WHAT is Joker's true goal?Β
Easy. Batman's one rule. Batman will never kill. He'll beat, pummel, and physically break the people he goes after. But Batman will never kill them. And no one has ever made that rule hard to abide by OR make Batman question it...except The Joker. That's Joker's true goal. Make Batman break his one rule. Make Batman kill. The one thing that, in many ways, divides them, since Joker is willing to do everything Batman is. And what would Joker consider the ultimate victory, and ultimate joke, aside from making Batman kill him?Β
When Joker gets pumped up on Titan, Joker retains his mind, unlike everyone else who turned into a mindless animal. Meaning all the tricks that worked on all the other Titan mutants and on Titan Bane wouldn't work on Titan Joker. And, as Joker himself says at the end of the battle, he can take anything Batman can throw at him. Whatever attacks Batman delivers, Joker can take, now an equal to Bane as a physical powerhouse. Unable to be tricked, and unable to be taken down, and given what Joker has already done by this point in time (Batgirl has become Oracle, meaning she's crippled and one Robin is dead), this would put Batman in a kill or be killed situation. Which, given Joker's intended goal, would only result in the Joker's death by Batman's hands. This even explains Joker 'shooting at' Gordon, knowing Batman well enough to know he would take the 'bullet'. Batman having the cure? Not unaccounted for. If Batman takes it like he did, he still has to face an unstoppable Joker. If Batman injects Joker, than Batman hulks out and the fight would have become Joker provoking Batman constantly until Batman was enraged and murdered Joker brutally. Either way, The Joker would win! The Joker makes Batman break his one rule.Β
The problem is the fight we got had all the backing for a tremendous showdown...but all we got was...copy&paste. Maybe the game was rushed to market and the programmers didn't have the time to put in the final boss battle they intended, making them have to set up the cheapo we got to meet the deadline. This is what I really want to believe happened because this final fight is the only point in the game I dislike and hate. I expected something that messed with my mind, trying to distract me while I was constantly on guard, scrambling to find some way to stun and take down Titan Joker without actually killing him to keep Batman true to his one rule. A battle that was more a survivor puzzle than an actual fight. Something more appropriate to The Joker's style.Β
Sadly, this is what we got. A badass, insane, terrifying clown...reduced to a game of 'El Matador Batman', beat up the worthless goons, button mash, and repeat. This could have been much better, but at least it's setup is understandable. The execution, however...another story.Β

Wow... so THIS is what musta happened to Joker after the Lexwing Crash...
P.S - How DID Joker survive the Lexwing Crash? I mean, you've got marble grenades rolling over the flight deck, Joker laughing, several mini-explosions, one BIG explosion, it crashes into the ocean, blows up a second time, and then Hamill's Joker returns to Gotham a month later still bankrupt.
(I own BTAS complete boxset so, from what I've seen, he returns in "Joker's Millions" UNSCATHED)

Why did the game makers have to do the whole spine out of the back thing? It's sort of disgusting. But other than that, awesome work!
