Clip taken from the 1943 comedy movie "No Time For Love". In the film, Darlene (June Havoc) plays a common showgirl who is jealous of female photographer for Mirror Magazine, Katherine Grant (Claudette Colbert) in the film. Katherine brings Jim Ryan (Fred MacMurray) along on her story on showgirl dancers. This is the fourth of a seven-part series.

In this clip, Katherine is about to take a picture of the showgirl. She told her to smile, as Darlene began posing. Then just before she snapped the picture, Katherine told her to try to act inteligent. Darlene immediatly stopped her pose and asked "huh?" Katherine snapped the photo with Darlene in the quisical stance, and then walked away. Darlene wanted to run after Katherine and confront her, but Ryan stopped her and said with you on the cover we'll sell two million magazines.

As Ryan and Katherine were talking out by the car, Katherine couldn't help but put down the showgirl. She made the comment, "Darlene...where are earth did she find a name like that? Sounds like a substitute for butter." Ryan stuck up for her and said, "She's a swell kid." Katherine responded, "I'm fully aware of your opinion, but I don't have to share it do I?" Ryan chimed back, "She can do five shows a day. Can you do that?" Katherine answered back, "Those simple little dance steps? I've seen children dance better than that....on their hands. And if I bleached my hair I could look just as cheap and tough as Darlene and six friends." After getting in the car, Ryan asked if he could borrow her car for the night. I said he maneuvered a date with Darlene. Katherine responded, "Oh that's fine. In these times with my tires you're going joy riding."

The next scene is where Katherine was talking to her friend Hoppy Grant (Ilka Chase) in the dark room. The photo of Darlene was just beginning to come into focus, and she made the comment, "Look at her, brazen, bleached, not a brain in her head". When Katherine's friend asked what she did to her, Katherine responded, "Nothing, only wouldn't you know it, she'd be just the type for Ryan. They were attracted to each other like syrup to a pancack".
