Description Just screwing around with depth of field and macro. Didn't do much to this one, just some curves and dropped the saturation back a little.

Hope you like it, any comments or suggestions are, as always, greatly appreciated.

Take care,

Rob.

great focus. i really like how it's held nicely between the model's lips. it's kinda like a 'bad boy' kinda thing which helps the image. love the desaturation.

When I look at this, my first thought was "And here's ma boom shtick!"
Don't ask why.
Interesting, indeed, a focus on something I don't think people normally would bother to look at. Great depth, of course.

Too true. You shouldn't smoke... Chew gum instead!
Nice job with the focus, though.

Excellent capture, limited depth of field and narrow view work well.

Wow...this reminds me of something. In the book The Day of the Jackal, the Jackal smokes in that apartment before he tries to kill De Gaulle...This is what came to my mind reading the title and seeing this. Cool!

Thanks ~serayane The title is actually referring to the cigarette being the killer but it's nice to see a different spin on it, isn't that what art is all about? Whatever you get from it is all good!

Thanks again, take care,

Rob.

I love the fact that you cant see the eyes... it gives it another aspect that wouldnt be present if you whould have added the rest of the face. This one is great... and oddly enough, the cigarette has a lot of emotion in it... lol. Great work!!

An emotional cigarette? That's a nice idea for a piece!

Thanks for the nice comment.

Wow, Rob!
First of all:
I'm so glad to see you posting again!
And second of all:
This is amazing. I absolutely love this shot. You've definitely captured a lot of depth here.
Seeing that cigarettes have become a a religous symbol for me, (according to Arthur) I really love this shot... It's got a kind of bad ass sexyness to it.
A definite FAVE!

Good use of macro here Really like the perspective and the cropping you did. The dropped saturation helps us focus entirely on what remains in focus, well done.

omg... you are back and better than ever.... loved it... I don't know which one to +fav.. i think i will start with this one considering i am a big time smoker but the other one is as good as this one... you did a great job altering the colors... it almost looks like cross processed (having your color slide film processed like a color negative film...) i have to admit very inspiring...

Very interesting perspective. The dropped saturation helps give it a dry clean look. Overall, good creative macro.
