There wasnt much a funeral in place for the white king, as nobody would arrange it or many would come anyway, but it wasnt just Spades who was there. The black king, in his time of recovery, attended to the hour the other would be buried. He brought roses, the flower the opposite king absolutely despised, and threw one in the casket, as well as on top of it in the dug grave. Not to spite him, but to hopefully tell him one last thing, if there is supposed to be a sort of place they go to. The living king would never spite the other... let alone even attend the war set between them- as you see, they once loved each other. Against the rules of the game of course, but isnt that how all cheesy lovestories go?

Spades held a point, however. If only one side was putting all the effort into the good, then of course the relationship would crash and burn, harming both sides involved. But this was extreme- nothing new for him, as honestly hes been doing this for millions of years. Game pieces were always a little extreme, and their opposite side, being extremely tame. Balanced, one would think, but its nothing of the sort. Hell, two card families wiped each other out over them being opposite elements with the same colour. Pathetic, isnt it? Just like the two kings.

The Black king did cry and mourn, for a while, but that was all before this time. He shed a singular tear with a smile during the hour. Between the choice of being sad or glad, choose to be happy over the memories in the end- and that was exactly what he was going to do.

But what now? Chess requires two sides to play.
