Description
Now, here's some concept arts for animated shorts projects in the context of my animation curriculum ! I decided, for one of these, to exploit my gang of animals But I also proposed other character designs for the same character ! It was really fun ! Here, we have concept arts for the little yet very smart basilisk lizard of the group, whom I used to name Basil I can't come up with better name ideas for this one
He is the brain of the group, although he measures only about 50 centimeters. Before meeting Conda the Anaconda in the Amazon, he underwent illegal experiments in a secret lab, that gave him intellectual capacities between those of Einstein and Hawking, maybe even higher, and so he was able to escape. He and Conda became friends only because the huge snake was already going through a long digestion process when the lizard stumbled on him. When Conda became able to hunt again, he no longer considered Basil like a potential prey Then, they met Doze the sloth together, a few weeks before meeting the other animals at the zoo. He also decided to wear a small toy hat as a mark of intelligence and individuality.
Being a basilisk lizard, he can run on water, and loves to sunbathe. But unlike any other basilisk, he can pretty much craft anything he needs from pretty much anything... He even built tools at his size to build gadgets more efficiently. He even built a frigging ray gun from a small hairdryer ! He has a whole lab under his vivarium ! And when it comes to exploring the world with his friends, he is the organizer
Also, he can eat pretty much everything that can fit in his mouth
He could be voiced by Kevin McDonald (Agent Pleakley in "Lilo and Stitch"), or Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski in "Monsters Inc"), or even Justin Roiland
Concerning his musical tastes, they would be rather eclectic, even if he mostly loves electronic music as it was at its beginning, and the works of Walter Wanderley
