The leading lady of Disney’s latest film Tangled. Having seen the movie twice, I was inspired to draw this beautiful princess with the long golden hair. She’s voiced by Mandy Moore, one of four pop princesses my peers idolized back in the old days. She really brought this character to life with her youthful sounding voice, sounding also like the teenager she voices. Rapunzel is rendered quite beautifully, and Disney really outdid themselves on the detail in her hair. I highly recommend seeing Tangled to anyone who’s ever loved a Disney film.

Artist’s complaints: the hair. Do you have any idea how hard it is to draw 70 feet of hair on an 8½ x 11 piece of paper?! I had to crop the image before it was uploaded. Don’t worry; it still has its magical effects. Nobody said cropping it to fit a piece of paper would cause it to turn brown and lose its power.

Also, you wouldn’t believe how long I had to wait for Mother Gothel to leave the tower long enough to sneak inside the tower to draw the beautiful maiden she was “protecting.” I swear, that woman almost never leaves! Once she did leave, I snuck inside, and quietly snapped a photo of the young maiden and bolted out of there. She’s good with the frying pan, especially as a weapon! And here I thought only Princess Peach was good with one of those!
