This is a cool pic.
I never got why they didn't just reintroduce and redesign the Mondasions, though... Why'd they need the whole "parallel universe" buzz?

I think it was actually two reasons - firstly the Cybermen came about in the sixties from a fear of spare part surgery which doesn't really exist these days, and so they needed to create a new reason to make them scary, but didn't want to negate the original Cybermen. Secondly, the story was originally going to be an adaption of a Big Finish audio play called "Spare Parts" in which the Cybermen were created, and as the story deviated from that the more the scripts were written, the production team didn't want to insult the audio play writer by writing his play out of continuity, and so opted to have parallel Cybermen.
