In 1987, Sophie Aldred began her 3 years on Doctor Who as Dorothy McShane, companion to the 7th Doctor and best known as Ace, in her debut story 'Dragonfire'. Famous for smashing the living daylights out of an Imperial Dalek, she went on to become the template for all future Doctor Who companion in the modern series beginning with Rose Tyler.Several years later since the 7th Doctor's companion made her Doctor Who debut, and another, completely different Ace was on the scene . . and from another dimension !. Commander Ace Rimmer, introduced in the Red Dwarf episode 'Dimension Jump' as an heroic version of the cowardly, anal Smeg Head Arnold Judas Rimmer that actor Chris Barrie is often best known for, with Ace always been seen as a charming man, loved by all, and always managing to make everyone he meets [except Arnold Rimmer] to end up saying "What a guy !"
But which of these two very different Ace's from British Sci-Fi is your favourite ?.

I favor the 7th Doctor's Ace, she's awesome! She'd have been my first pick for the new Brigadier, she's certainly blown up enough space monsters to earn a high rank in Unit >;3
