When a rat falls for a mouse, a mouse for rat, or it is mutual, They do not behave entirely like they would if they had for a member of the same race. I say "race" as they are part of the same overall species.

Anyway Effeldehn has a genuine affection for Dina Eemio to the point that he has directly told her he is in love with her. But Dina can not brig herself to believe him yet. It does not help that various factions of the Rats keep trying to steal her powers and hurt her friends. And While Eropa is honor bound to comply with her great grandfather's wishes, the ancient Rat Sage that gave Dina her powers, to assist MGI in anyway possible as needed, Dina sees it only as a contractual obligation and not that Eropa might actually be a friend, Effeldehn ends up not even having a contract of some kind to at least valid even cooperation with the Handsome rat assassin.

As a result, of this "love quest", to get Dina to trust him and believe him, Effeldehn often ends up on misadventures occasionally being played as a fool by Francesca and Mia. Fortunately Effeldehn is not truly a fool but he does end up being maneuvered into foolish situation that turnout to be more fun than trouble for him.

Dina is still inexperienced and straight forward.When it comes to romance and even the possibly of sex, Dina plays it very close to her chest. She has had to kept a somewhat underage mouse boy, Meep, at bay, Convince others that Doritdee is not her boyfriend, even though they are good friends, and now this Rat and also a police mouse, Sgt Eerrk Merisol are in her life. She blames it on her frequent lack of dress and not looking too bad that way, for giving people the wrong idea, especially when Sgt Merisol is assigned to keep regular contact with MGI and the other Big Mice.
