- Bastian quite literally pushes himself to his limits. He does not know how pain feels or any touch, for that matter. To him every touch, no matter if a kiss or a kick is the same, dull feeling. He often yearns to feel the way others feel and while others often think his condition should make him proud and the perfect warrior, Bastian hardly can agree for they don't know how horrible it is to not know how a loving touch feels either.

Appearance:

Build: Bastian is a slender and athletic built young stag of good height. He's got powerful legs with big hooves perfect for climbing and navigating through the rocky and uneven woods and mountains of Blackwood. He might not be the most impressive sight cmpared to some of the bulls in the herd, but certainly makes up for it in speed and elegance.

Rack: Large, ornate and manly, Bastian is already sporting a fine rack much like his father. It's clear he'll one day it'll be nice addition to his overall handsome features.

Hair: The young stag wears his mane in dreads much like his father.

Eyes: Bastian has very intelligent, soulful and kind eyes. He however often tries to hide them behind an air of arrogance and sarcasm, afraid he might appear too soft. Towards fawnlings he knows and trusts, he however is just the kind and giving person his eyes aren't quite able to hide.

Coat: A handsome, dark coat, slightly shaggy by the many scars that litter his body. He's by all means considered a good-looking lad indeed.

Scars: Countless smaller and larger scars litter the young stag's body, caused by his lack of feeling pain.

History:

Bastian was born to Belial, a well respected Blackwood herbalist and Hagen, a former warrior now witch, whom his mother had chosen for his strengths and how he had managed to raise again after having been almost killed by a bear. She saw great power in the stag and hoped to also find great power in her own fawn, who indeed was born healthy and strong. He was the pride and joy of Belial, yet she eventually realized, that something wasn't quite right with her son. He never bleated when he fell or cried when he bumped his head. When he played with the other fawns, he would often play too rough and accidently hurt other fawns as well as himself.

Soon he had the reputation to be a very rough colt and not many wanted to play with him anymore. Belial felt sorry and a little ashamed for her son, who apparently wouldn't know when it was enough. Bastian himself discovered that the other fawns often were scared of him, which however also made them leave him alone. He knew something wasn't quite right with him and to some point prefered it that way, for as much as he enjoyed the respect of the others, as much he feared he might hurt them. He kept playing his role of the rough and cruel colt you better didn't mess with, but on the inside the soft and poetic colt soon felt his heart yearn. Yearn for what others called a nuzzle, an embrace or a kiss. He was ashamed of himself, his defect and so he decided to not just feel on the outside, but also not feel on the inside. Or least, try.

Belial did her best to teach Bastian how to get along with his apparent lack of physical feeling and he was thankful for it, however the doe's health began to decline over the harsh season after the exhausting time of pregnancy and nursing her son and one cold morning in winter, she wouldn't wake up anymore.

Bastian went to the only place he knew: he went to his father, Hagen. He was scared he would be rejected, however instead he was met with open arms and an open heart by Hagen and his mate Isá. She adopted him without question and Bastian soon found himself part of their family, Isá treating him just like her own. His younger brother, Charon was also born in 760, the two bucks connected by an especially close relationship.

The next year Isá gave birth to a filly, Hekate and adopted another colt, Thanatos and as such Bastian gained two more siblings, maybe not by blood, but by bond.

He did his best to be a role-model and good older brother to them, while the same time keeping up his reputation with the other teenaged fawnlings of the herd, so they wouldn't try mess with him or his family, more and more often staying away from home. However, when he was at home he was the kindest and most patient big brother.

When his first rack came in, Bastian went to pass his Coming-of-Age ritual and returned with a fine wolf, earnining the respect of his brethen and, like his father, deciding to aspire becoming a warrior. Granted, Bastian felt a bit biased about his decision, for while being quite a good fighter, there was a poetic soul within him that yearned for beauty and not violence. He however also felt being a warrior was what was meant for him and so he did what he believed was expected. After his brother, Charons, disappearance he was very worried, however when he returned announcing himself The Preacher of Ùir, Bastian was little surprised. Charon always had been a bit of a special case. He felt very proud though and with his brother having found his path, now aspires even more to find his very own too, might it be that of a warrior or something else.
