Finally its done, this one fought with me all the way. So many changes done to this one, but im satisfied with the end result.I know the background could use some work, but i guess thats where my skills are lacking. The hair is pretty wacky (the long parts) i just wanted to break up the long boring shape and create something sharp looking. There you have it my attempt in Akari from Aria
*EDIT: I had to change the first one cause i felt it was too small and that the colours weren't looking right to me. Hope this one looks better.
*more edit: sorry after looking at this it was way too big so sorry for the inconvenience

I think Akari's Hair's pretty wacky in general so it probs ain't an issue
Awesome pic though man. I love the way you've handled the details on her gondola and on the columns behind. Also the water looks suitably epic. Generally water's a bitch to do well (or at least I find it is) but your rendition's come out really well.

Cheers Wraith11, the water was done using redheadstocks water brushes, i shouldve mentioned that earlier. I really wanted to use just flat colours and hard edges through the thing but for some reason i deviated from the plan.
Well as far as environments go i struggle. Ive seen your DA site and it seems like you have a good grasp on environment I especially like scribble city.

Haha, well I have an idea of what I want things to look like, and a sketch... but rarely is what I wind up with the end like what I started out working on
Sadly I'm about 16hours too far north to make SMASH... maybe if it happens next year I'll make a trip down, but just now I'm a little too busy with uni. I assume you are going?

looks amazing. I can see how much time and effort was put in to this piece. Background looks fine to me, no need to add anything else.
As for the hair, I would have added a little bit of shadow where the hair crosses one another.
